Second Saturday Art Happenings in Palm Coast

Gary Borse "West Lochloosa Twists" 44 x53 Acrylic
The Second Saturday of each month is when Hollingsworth Gallery, located in Palm Coast City Marketplace, opens a new exhibition presenting fresh, contemporary and colorful art in a relaxing and inviting atmosphere with a reception (ok, party) from 6 - 9pm.

This Saturday, in Hollingsworth's main gallery, features stunning and moving works by Gary Borse (above) and Linda Solomon (below). Gary is a highly regarded & collected contemporary landscape painter from Fairfield, FL known for his vibrant palette and Linda is a local expressionistic artist who paints landscapes and figures that exude a spiritual sense of awareness and freedom and...now that I've had a chance to see them as many are just off the easel...her new works are museum-quality and a true art must-see.

In Hollingsworth's SECCA Gallery you'll find a very special show honoring Alice Johnson's 85th birthday with live music and a retrospective of her art through the years. Alice's work reflects her African American heritage as well as a deep appreciation for Jazz culture.

Second Saturday Events at Hollingsworth are also when several of the SECCA studio artist's (yes, including yours truly) have their studios open so you can peek at the sculptures, photography and paintings in the works and meet the artists. And don't forget to check out the student works showcased in the SECCA School of the Arts classroom between the two galleries.

Truly a treasured art colony is building right here in Palm Coast, FL. If you haven't been in awhile it's time to check out the new, expansive gallery and studio space as well as the increased caliber of art...and hey, the sunset, wine and friendly people aren't bad either. Hope to see you there!
